These Terms and Conditions ("Agreement") govern your access to and use of ChemXtract, a software application developed and operated by Calpine Labs Private Limited ("Company", "we", "us", or "our"). By accessing or using ChemXtract ("Application"), you ("User", "you") agree to be bound by this Agreement. If you do not agree, you must not use the Application.

1. Acceptance of Terms

By registering for, accessing, or using ChemXtract, you confirm that you have read, understood, and accepted these Terms and Conditions.

2. Description of the Application

ChemXtract is a chemistry and trade intelligence platform that enables users to:

  • Upload chemical structures, images, and reaction data
  • Extract chemical information such as CAS numbers, SMILES, HS codes, and reaction mappings
  • Perform reaction balancing and rule generalization
  • Visualize international trade and regulatory data related to chemicals
  • Access enriched chemical information from public scientific databases

3. Use of Third-Party Data Sources

ChemXtract integrates publicly available data via official APIs and public endpoints from UN Comtrade, PubChem (NCBI/NIH), and European Commission Taxation & Customs databases (e.g., ECICS). Data is displayed only in processed or visualized form. Raw data redistribution is not permitted.

4. User Obligations

You agree to:

  • Use the Application only for lawful purposes
  • Upload only content you are legally permitted to use
  • Not attempt to scrape, download, reverse-engineer, or redistribute third-party data
  • Not misuse the Application in a way that violates intellectual property rights or applicable laws

5. Intellectual Property Rights

All intellectual property related to ChemXtract, including software, workflows, user interfaces, and proprietary algorithms, is owned by Calpine Labs Private Limited.

Third-party data remains the intellectual property of their respective owners. Use of such data is governed by applicable public data usage policies.

6. Disclaimer

ChemXtract is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis. We make no warranties regarding accuracy, completeness, or suitability of results, including data derived from third-party sources.

ChemXtract is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by the United Nations, UN Comtrade, NCBI, NIH, or any other third-party data provider.

7. Limitation of Liability

Calpine Labs Private Limited shall not be liable for indirect, incidental, consequential, or special damage arising from use of the Application or reliance on its outputs.

8. Data Protection and Privacy

Use of ChemXtract is subject to the Privacy Policy, which explains how personal data is collected, processed, and protected.

9. Service Availability

We strive to maintain high availability but do not guarantee uninterrupted access. Scheduled and unscheduled downtime may occur.

10. Modifications to Terms

We reserve the right to update these Terms at any time. Continued use of the Application constitutes acceptance of updated Terms.

11. Governing Law

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of India.
